Red polka dot gumboots..

I just had to share with you my new purchase..
Got these from Target for an absolute bargain!

Aren't they cute??
I've been wearing them whilst preparing my garden for Spring..
There's nothing wrong with looking cute whilst killing the weeds!!
Now I have to get a great sunhat..
My kids are going to die of embarrassment..

Daffodil Day..

Today it is Daffodil Day..
The day when the Australian cancer council tries to raise funds for cancer research and awareness..
My family has been effected by cancer..Thank goodness all with good outcomes..
I always buy something from the cancer council because I want to make sure that my children and their children will hopefully grow up in a world where the word CANCER isn't scary..
So after work I want to get me some daffodils..

Thank you to everyone out there who dedicates their lives to finding cures so that everyone else can get on with living happy, healthy and long lives..
Spare a thought for all those living with cancer and count all your blessings, even the little ones..

Bring on Spring..

Less than a week to the official start of Spring..

Today I'm spraying the dreaded Bindi Eye that's trying to overtake our lawn..

Getting rid of the last of the winter weeds..

The weather has been so nice lately and I can't wait for my garden to start blooming..

Here's some roses from last Spring that I collected from my front garden...

They smelt SOOOOOO good..

Oh yeah, remember I was on the search for a new bed.

Well we decided on an ensemble and bed head ..

I've found a great one at a local Auction yesterday ..

I'll get the before and afters up soon..

I'm SO excited..

Music to my ears..

Yesterday my youngest son said something to me that was "music to my ears"..

"Mum, I'll cook dinner tonight.."

Well he didn't have to say that twice..

He's just about to turn 13 and it wouldn't have mattered if he"d served up bread and butter, I was over the MOON!!!

He excelled himself..

Homemade hamburgers from scratch with a side serving of potato gems..

He toasted the buns and laid the cheese..

Made the patties from scratch and cooked them himself..

Sliced the tomato and sprinkled with pepper..

A drizzling of sauce..

Perfect!!!

It tasted great..

(I didn't have the potato gems I was saving myself for a chocolate biscuit with a cup of tea later on.)

This is how everyones plate ended up..

I got to do the washing up, but I did it with a big smile on my face..xx

Things my teenagers teach me!!

This last week or so my stress levels are hitting new highs..

I feel bad because trivial things seem to be annoying me more than ever..

What's gone wrong I ask myself..

I'll tell you whats gone wrong!!!!!

TEENAGE BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I'm listing what my boys are so are LOVINGLY teaching me..

*That my eldest runs in his own time zone and yelling does not make his clock tick faster.

*My youngest ones hair is actually a work of art and I SHOULD know that art takes time and patience.

*I'm learning that girls between the age of 14 and 16 are VERY important to my eldest ones social life and NO other mums in the universe whinge about how much time their kids spend on the phone..(Only I complain..so I've been told).

*I've just learnt that my sons don't like ONION in their spaghetti bolognaise even though they've been eating this since time began.

*I should know that clothes on the floor don't mean they're dirty..just waiting to be reworn.

*My youngest has told me that I need to CHILLAX, I took this a compliment...I SHOULDN'T have!!

*I've also learnt from my 2 young gentlemen that unless your shoes cost a minimum of $100 they are not fit for public viewing..

Seriously I don't know how I would manage without my boys helping me with these life lessons..

I should be so happy and grateful for their insight and knowledge..

BUT as I feel my blood pressure rising and spy another sock on the floor I just can't seem to conjure up these emotions..

Put on the kettle, buy me a slab of chocolate and I'll get through this..Anyway I've only got about another 7 or 8 teenage years to go..

HOW HARD COULD IT BE????????????????

Bedtime..

I'm getting very excited!!

I have been wanting a new bed for some time now and my Handyman has finally relented,I mean agreed.

So I've been devouring catalogues, store stalking and internet trawling..

I've seen some gorgeous things..

I know for sure it's gotta be white or creamy white..

It has to be romantic and girly (sorry handyman)..

I've picked a few inspirational pictures to share with you all..

I've currently got a timber bed, which is quite nice, but the man's agreed so there's no going back now...

Besides I've already found the perfect linens, so it's onwards and up from here...

So clean and crisp..

Love all the curves..

The lattice effect is dreamy..

Want the bed and the chandelier..

Pretty and ornate..

Mondayitis

Well I'm late for a Monday...

I've had a horrible vomiting virus and things came out of my body that I don't even remember consuming..

So I thought I'd just post a little picture of the front of my favourite cushion..

These words ring so true..

I hope you all have a great week..

Home is where I hang my hat..

Home is where I feel loved..

Home is where I feel safe..

Home is where I relax..

Home is where I like to be.

Home is where I am not judged..

Home is where I can just be me..

Home is my favourite place to be..

Home is where I hang my hat..

Home is HOME!!
